The famous cutting edge Chloe brand was first created in Paris, France in 1952 by Gaby Aghion who was originally of Egyptian descent. Aghion had got tired of the couture culture of Paris fashion whereby all clothing was made to measure which was not only time consuming it was also highly expensive and kept high fashion away from the vast majority.

Sensing a gap in the market the Chloe label was formed with the idea to create ready to wear fashion that women could simply buy from shops and wear the same day. Although the brand was formed in 1952 it wasnt until 1956 that Chloe created their first fashion show at famous French cafe Le Cafe De Flore. Chloe's range and couture reasoning was so popular that other French designers began to follow her lead including Givenchy.

By 1971 the Chloe brand was so popular in Paris that she launched her first stand alone boutique. In 1980 established designer Karl Lagerfeld was to become the creative director and in a bold move in 1997 Stella McCartney became head designer bringing in a whole new look, feel and direction to the brand.

2002 saw the launch of Chloe Handbags to sit alongside their range of Chloe Clothing. One of their first handbag designs the "paddington" was to become the first "IT" bag with women queuing up to get their hands on the must have handbag of the year.

Chloe's clothing range consists of dresses, vests, t-shirts, tops and t-shirt dresses and her handbag range consists of shoulder bags, clutch bags, day bags, wallets and purses.
