Burberry is perhaps Britain's most popular and iconic fashion house and they have a long and established reputation within the fashion industry. The famous Burberry cheque is well known and distinctive worldwide with its cream background coupled with Black, Grey and Cream stripes.

The company itself was founded back in 1856 by Thomas Burberry in the Southern English city of Basingstoke. Thomas himself was only 21 at the time which was a remarkable feat in itself. They started out manufacturing mens outerwear and outdoor attire specialising in designer clothing that was suitable and hard wearing enough to cope with British winters. By 1891 Thomas opened the first ever Burberry store in Haymarket, London which is still in existence today.

In 1914 the company was commissioned to manufacture and supply a long overcoat by the British Establishment that would be suitable for British soldiers to wear during the first world war. The jacket was given the name the trench coat as it was worn by soldiers in the trenches of war and this name has stuck with the iconic right up until today.

The company produces a fine range of clothing for both ladies and men including the Prorsum collection but its most popular pieces are its range of Burberry Jackets and Burberry Macs.
